Fruits and Health
Fruits are one of the finest and healing foods that nature has given us. Juicy, delicious and nutritious, they contain many vitamins, minerals, simple sugars in small quantities - proteins and fats. You can find in them 80-90% of the structured water our body needs. Our cells need more "fuel" rather than structuring elements and the simple sugars contained in the fruits are the best fuel for our body. Fruits can be consumed directly or in many different ways depending on ones taste.
Suitable Mix of Different Fruits:
The best mix is considered to be sweet plus sweet fruits. Of course you can also mix sweet with a bit of sour fruits and finally sour and sour is also acceptable.
Which fruits are sweet:
Bananas, grapes, figs, dates, raisins, dried fruit.
Partly acidic fruits: strawberries, cherries, apricots, peaches, pears, apples, fresh figs, plums, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, grapes, mango.
Sour are: plums, cherries, pomegranates, oranges, mandarins, grapefruits, lemons, kiwi, pineapple.
Melons, watermelons and papaya should be always consumed separately from other fruit.
One of the best qualities of the fruit is that they are digested very quickly due to the presence of live enzymes and simple structures. It's best for the health and digestion to consume one type of fruit per meal. The maximum lengh for digesting the fruit is 60 minutes. Considering though that they are full of sugars it's good your next meal or fruit consumtion to be after 90 minutes to avoid mixing the fruit, which may result in fermentation. A good start of your day begins with a morning fruit juice, which will quickly awaken your half asleep body, provide it with proper food and will help for a more fresh and energizing start of the day.

Cherries are rich in vitamin C, E and B, potassium, magnesium, iron, fiber, beta-carotene (provitamin A). They are one of the few fruit source of melatonin, antioxidant, which regulates the heart activity and sleep.
